Writing for Pleasure. Group Leader - Beryl Slade

The 'Writing for Pleasure' group meetings have become relaxed and enjoyable occasions under the leadership of Joan Barrow and I hope that the group will continue to enjoy both the writing and the sharing.

We write about a wide variety of subjects and it is fascinating to read the different responses from the members. Occasionally a topic may seem daunting but is always challenging and enjoyable. The emphasis is on writing for pleasure. Although members are allowed to rebel and write something other than the chosen theme, this rarely happens.

Our subjects are wide ranging: We have written stories, descriptive pieces, book reviews, writing of our own experiences and much more. I hope to continue to suggest interesting topics, and of course ideas often come from the other members. I don't think we shall ever run out of things to write about.

Writing for Pleasure will always be on the last Thursday in the month We meet in a lovely room at the Fire Station from 1-15pm to 2.45 pm.

Parking at the rear of the Fire station is limited and we have been asked to park in the Leisure Centre car park or the streets close by.  It is never a problem.
