Silk Painting

Margot Colgate with the exhibition of work on 4
March 2008.
The Cheadle Silk Painting Group which has been in
existence for three years is planning to become part of Cheadle U3A in
September. Members will have the opportunity to have a go at silk painting
during the Summer term 2008 at a cost of only £1.50 per session with materials
included. This is a trial period of up to four sessions and an excellent
opportunity to make up your mind whether this is for you before buying a kit.
In September the cost per session will be £1 but members
taking part will have to provide their own materials.
Silk painting is more than making cushions!
Scarves, cards, ties, small tablecloths, silk on glass vases, blouses and
jackets are amongst the articles made by the group. Their are many
different techniques to use, for example salt, beads and embroidery.
The group meets in the back room of the Guild Hall from
April 9th, on Wednesday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30 during term time.
With a limited number of places available please contact Margot Colgate as soon
as possible to reserve your place and get further information from Margot on
01538 751747.
